Voice input
Hold the hotkey and speak — Hovor records your audio and instantly converts it to text. Works in any app: messengers, editors, browsers. The result is automatically pasted into the active field. Supports Ukrainian, English, German, French, Spanish and Polish — you can switch between them within a single recording.
Smart formatting
Every recording gets cleaned up: filler words removed, punctuation added, grammar fixed. Two levels — "Clean up" for a light pass and "Structure" for a full rewrite — plus a tone you pick — neutral, business, casual, and more. The clean-up can run on our server, fully on-device (Apple Intelligence when your device supports it), or through your own API key.
A dictionary that understands variants
Recognizer unstable on a word? List all variants separated by | — Hovor replaces any of them with the canonical form. Example: говір|говор|говер → Hovor. Replacement runs on-device, no AI round-trip. One dictionary, synced across Mac, Windows, and iPhone.

What languages are supported?
Hovor supports Ukrainian, English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, and many other languages. You can change the language during recording or in the settings.
Is an internet connection required?
By default yes — transcription runs through the Hovor server for the best quality, and audio is deleted immediately after processing. On macOS and iOS you can switch to an on-device model (Whisper or Parakeet) in settings and dictate fully offline. The free tier is 2,000 words a week; Pro or a one-time Local Unlock removes the cap. On-device models run on the Apple Neural Engine, so for usable speed we recommend an Apple Silicon (M1+) Mac or an iPhone on iOS 18+ with enough RAM (4 GB+ for Parakeet, 6 GB+ for Whisper).
What platforms does Hovor work on?
Hovor is live on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and iOS 18+. The Windows app is being rebuilt from scratch and is coming soon. On-device models (Whisper, Parakeet) run on the Apple Neural Engine — for them we recommend an Apple Silicon (M1+) Mac or an iPhone on iOS 18+ with enough RAM.
How fast does the text appear?
Usually under a second after you stop speaking. Exact latency depends on your internet connection and recording length.
Is it safe to store private text in snippets?
Yes. Local snippets never leave your device — their content is not synced through the server, and only the trigger word is visible in the UI. Suitable for passwords, sensitive details, and any text that should stay on-device.
What is included in the free plan?
The free plan includes 2,000 words per week, AI formatting, dictionary and snippets, and support for up to 2 devices. No credit card required.
Are my recordings stored on the server?
Audio is deleted immediately after transcription — we do not store voice recordings. Text transcription history is stored exclusively on the device locally.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Hovor Pro can be bought via the App Store (iOS) or the website (your cabinet at hovor.app). If you bought Pro in the App Store, it works across your devices (Mac and iOS, with Windows on the way) and is managed through your Apple ID: on iOS go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, on Mac the app opens apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. If you bought it on the website, cancel from your cabinet. Either way, access stays until the end of the paid period.
